A passive investment application launched by CoinBits for Bitcoin

Erik Finman, who is a twenty-something Bitcoin maximalist is very famous for his $12 bet on currency a few years back. Now, he has successfully built his first company when he is still in high school. He is launching his new start-up called CoinBits which is known for allowing users to invest in Bitcoins in a passive manner.

The main idea he has is to democratize the currency access simply by letting everyone invest their nominal amounts of money with the help of roundups on different transactions by debit or credit card. This will be a direct transfer from the checking account to Bitcoin with help of CoinBits.

Users can make one time investments of about $10, $25, $50 or $100 with the help of different web-based platforms and can also establish a high-level risk for their holdings.

This application does not collect any kind of commission on any transactions. All the Bitcoins which are stored are offline to maintain maximum security.

Finman said:

“Overall, investing in Bitcoin is complicated and can feel almost impossible.”

“Coinbits allows you to put that spare change in bitcoin. For example, if you spend $1.75 on French fries, that remaining 25 cents is invested automatically.”

All the withdrawals are now handled by the company itself and they will all be processed on the same day with a fee of 50 cents. All the records can be downloaded for all kinds of accountants with different gain or losses which are associated with Bitcoin.

The nature of the investment is a bit fictional given the volatile nature of bitcoins it is very hard for any investor who can be ripped off from this kind of small transactions. The risk is comparatively much lower and is best for experimenting in the market.

Microsoft finally brings its To-Do application to the Mac operating system

In the year 2017, Microsoft said that it will be shutting down Wunderlist which was a company acquired by Microsoft in order to forge their to-do application.

The Mac operating system will take advantage of the new platform which offers a handful of shortcuts.

There was a Worldwide Developer Conference this month where the company ended up announcing all their tools and they started calling it Project Catalyst. Under this project, Apple is trying to bring all the applications to release their products for the Mac operating system. The Project Catalyst helps developers build a new application with the help of the existing codebase which will is being used in iOS applications.

Microsoft was not ready to be a part of the Project Catalyst and this is why they went in a very different route. The company wants to ship totally brand new applications for the Mac operating system.

Google accused of copying lyrics of different songs from Genius for their search results

In a recent report from the Wall Street Journal, there have been accusations made on Google by Genius Media by saying that Google copies song lyrics from their website to use them in their search results.

If you have ever looked for Google Search, then you have seen that there is a box appearing alongside the general search results. It basically shows the lyrics of the song. Some lyrics websites have taken issues with this because this means that they will receive less traffic from users.

Genius Media is accusing Google of copying all the lyrics directly from their website and using them in Google search results.

Genius made a change to its site back in 2016 where it started:

“Alternating the lyrics’ apostrophes between straight and curly single-quote marks in exactly the same sequence for every song.”

This effectively acts as a watermark for the copy, and when the apostrophes are translated into Morse code, it spells out “Red Handed.”

Google has been notified by Genius multiple times in the last two years about the stolen lyrics. The company had already explained that all the lyrics were directly licensed from partners. Google also came out with an official statement that they will be looking over and investigating the whole matter. Google is not really at fault right now because past complains from Genius might have triggered an investigation far more sooner but nothing like this has happened yet.
